Finally finished!

August 15, 2009

YES! I finished my first pair of socks yesterday. Felt rather accomplished! IMG_7537edit

I was so eager to finish because I wanted to start another pair. I jumped the gun and purchased four other sock knitting books in anticipation of my finish! I currently have Melissa Morgan-Oake’s 2-at-a-time Socks in front of me, along with a pair of takumi 48 inch circular needles, a ball of yellow yarn, and a ball of white yarn. Note: Acrylic yarn + bamboo needles = SLOW  knitting. I’m getting irritated. Why 48 inches? The six nearest craft stores around me don’t carry circular knitting needles longer than 32 inches. Figured 8 inches too long was better than 8 inches too short. Of course that leads to a jumbled mess.IMG_7573I’m hoping to finish up these ‘baby socks’ tonight. If I can get to the craft store tomorrow before noon, I’ll purchase some yarn for the Hemlock Ring Blanket. I’ve been eager to knit this! I purchased some yarn for it today, thinking I was lucky for finding JUST enough yarn with the same dye lot. It wasn’t until I came home that I  realized I needed another skein…so  I have to return what I purchased today and settle for another color 😦

Happy knitting…
